Zutter Basics

Do you own a Zutter Bind-It-All?

Have you taken it out of the box?
Do you know how to use it?
Have you used it to make an album?
Have you used it to make a cute project?

If you answered ‘Yes’ to the first question but ‘No’ to any of the following questions then this is the class for you. Lots of people are afraid to use this tool for fear of messing up their project, but we’ll get to know our Zutter Bind-It-All in this class by learning some basic information about the tool and what additional items work with it, such as the extension paper guide bar and stop guide. We’ll create a sample book of materials that can be used with the zutter along with a 6×6 mini album with lots of pages. Some will fold out or have pockets, along with lots of other techniques to create a unique album.

ATC and Inchie swap

I participate in an ATC swap at a local scrapbook store, The Crop Shop, and I run an inchie swap at the same store. We make a certain amount of inchies and then swap them out at our gathering. Here are some of the inchies from the July inchie swap. Each one of us usually comes up with different ideas and techniques to showcase the particular themes each time.

 Inchie Swap - 1920s, Food/Recipe and challenge - Hobbies

These are my ATC and inchies for the swap we had in September. I made little replica of an iPhone for the ATC and then I was stumped on the inchie but then I remembered that I had a stamp of an envelope and one of a snail which paired well with a DeNami Design stamp of a chickie with a computer. Snail mail to email. Then I used Elizabeth Crafts peel-offs and glitter to make these fall pumpkins and leaves for the fall theme. I used copics and a JustRite stamp set. For the challenge I used a collection from Reminisce that I picked up last year in while traveling through Tennessee. I incorporated my inchie into the ATC.

Our next ATC and inchie swap is Saturday, November 10th from 10a-noon and the themes are 'animal' and ' fairy tales' plus the challenge is 'veterans.' We'll also be making a 3x4 book with pockets to store the ATCs. If you would like to participate in our next please call the store and sign up.

Celebrating the Holidays early with DeNami Design

Well that huge mess on my desk was what was left over from creating these 4 cards for an upcoming class at KEPT Creations.

Who knew such little 'chickie' stamps from DeNami Design could create that much chaos.

I'll be teaching this class on Sunday, October 21st from noon-2pm. There are a few seats left so you can sign up by calling the store 781-447-4010 or clicking this link to pay via paypal.

I love DeNami Design rubber stamps! Each time they come out with a new release, usually twice a year, I stalk their blog, facebook and website for sneak peeks of the new stamps. It takes me no time at all to get my list together and start adding them to my cart and getting them shipped promptly to me.

What makes my obsession with DeNami stamps even better is that my friend, Kim, opened up a new craft store on September 1st, 2012 and she will be stocking the shelves with these wonderful stamps. Not only will I get my stamps but also I will help a local small business. She's even enabling my other obsession with 'inchies' by carrying 'inchie' products in a whole array of colors and sizes by Inchie Arts.

I have lots of new product to test out and possibly use in upcoming classes, so check back and see what else I come up with while playing in my craft room.

BOO!!!!

Yes, it's that time of year again. Soon the kids will be on a sugar high and we adults will be desperately trying not to eat those bags of candy before the first trick or treater rings the doorbell.

As I have said before, I have an obsession with calendars of all kinds. Advent, countdown, monthly, yearly etc...

So for my first class at KEPT Creations I made a Halloween countdown calendar using the beautiful Graphic 45 Happy Haunting line.

Well, I always gripe that making my monthly calendars (6x6 or inchie) take everything out of me. I have to think up 12 different layouts/designs each time I do them. This time the store owner, Kim, said since I love calendars why not do a Halloween countdown. I figured why not, I already had the paper and embellishments. I mean how hard could it be.

Let me tell you this, 12 layouts is nothing compared to 31 pages and the cover, let's not forget about trying to come up with a cheap way to display it as so to keep the cost of the class down. After much sweat, tears and the OMG how the heck am I going to come up with the last 5 layouts! It was done.

I'll be teaching this class on Sunday, September 16th from noon-3pm at KEPT Creations in Whitman, MA. There are only three seats left as of today so if you still want to sign up call the store or click on this link and pay via paypal.
